Crafty Friday! – Bird House

Welcome to Crafty Fridays!

Introducing a new series to the blog that I think a lot of moms will appreciate! Here I’ll be featuring different crafts that my kids and I create. Crafts are a great way to keep the little ones entertained, get their creature juices flowing, and it’s always a fun bonding time. Today we’ll be featuring my 7 year old son, Alexander, and theΒ Made by Me Bird HouseΒ from Wal-Mart. This adorable little house is only $9.97.

This little kit comes with everything you will need including easy to follow instructions. However, the one thing I will suggest is to get a bigger brush. The one in the kit is perfect for detailing, but it’s too small for painting bigger areas. Luckily, I have a lot of spare makeup brushes he can use.

Β First, you assemble the bird house, which he found to be super easy!

Next, put down something to protect your work area. Kids + Paint = a messy formula! He also changed into something that we don’t mind staining. This part was his favorite, he picked the colors and the design. He said he wanted it to resemble our first home, which made my heart melt!

Overall it was such a fun project, he absolutely loved it! Now all we need is bird food to lure all the little birdies into our yard, muahaha. That’s it for today’s craft, let me know if you’ll be trying this with your kiddos!

Exploring Dallas: $5 admissions at The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

Exploring Dallas:Β Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

I’ve visited this place countless times, it’s easily one of my favorite places to go as a family. Now, I’m not the most outdoorsy person, but this place is hard not to love! It’s located on the shores of White Rock Lake and sits on 66 acres. It has beautiful scenic views and endless possibilities to explore. From now until February 23rd they’re having $5 admissions (General admission for adults is usually $15) if you pay at the booth! I highly suggest you take advantage of this deal, the weather has been on our side lately.

Of course, this time around I had to break out my fabulous picnic basket that I recently found at an antique store. We set up our picnic on the Martin Rutchik concert stage & lawn, which overlooks the White Rock Lake shore. Such a relaxing view!

After our picnic we enjoyed a walk around the gardens. It was peaceful and not crowed at all since it was already later in the day and near closing time. Selena started wearing leggings under her dress, but then walked into a pond and had to take them off, lol!

I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures. I always seem to draw so much inspiration from this gorgeous place, definitely check it out if you can and let me know what you thought!

Why I left youtube – What now?

Hello…it’s me. πŸŽ΅πŸ˜€

You may know me from following my social media accounts. Either from YouTube, Instagram or Snapchat. So, in that case, you must know that I was doing YouTube videos at one point. I had my channel for a couple years, and it always remained a pretty small channel as far as subscriber count goes. That really never bothered me, I knew that in order to “make it” on YouTube I needed to invest a ton of money into filming equipment, setup, etc. That was honestly something I was never willing to do, you see this was purely an outlet – a hobby for me. A hobby that over time began to feel like a chore,Β  Continue reading “Why I left youtube – What now?”
